The Full Story
Our name. Titan Law
In Greek mythology, the Titans ruled the universe as a group of powerful deities many years before the Olympian gods. They were held in high regard as they each birthed various aspects of the universe; they were respected as the givers of human law and the deciders of fate.
Similarly, at Titan Law our ethos is to establish standards for greatness and achievement in our collective command of the law, while surpassing the expectations of our clients in our legal service delivery.
Our Emblem. The Owl
The Owl is a figure of good fortune in Greek Mythology and an omen of fear in Cameroon, associated with wisdom, distraction of sight, and fierce intelligence. As our emblem, the Owl personifies our position on the legal battlefield: we are highly vigilant, patient, wise and accurate on strike.
The team at Titan Law is deliberately multiskilled, so that clients are not just briefing a practitioner skilled purely in legal matters. Our lawyers all have a background, relevant to their practice area, outside of the law, in order that they are able to render meaningful practical advice and guidance premised on real experience of how a market place and economy like Zimbabwe actually functions.
We are hands on, and like our clients, strongly driven to deliver the best legal product possible to their best advantage.
The firm was established in 2004 by its present senior partner, Gerald Nqobile Mlotshwa.
Over the years, the firm has grown into one of the larger law firms in Zimbabwe, taking also into account the value of transactions it handles in any given year. Certainly, its brand, Titan Law, is the most recognized brand on the market.
The practice is a full practice law firm with a strong bias toward the natural resources, corporate and financial services sectors. It is a market leader in land reform and investment in agriculture.
Mining and property law are also strong practice areas for the firm, as is high stakes litigation and advice in Zimbabwe’s corporate boardrooms. Titan Law is well respected in the market place for formulating and implementing legal strategies in the resolution of corporate and commercial transactions and disputes.
The firm has a second office in the city of Bulawayo, and wholly owns Titan Legal Inc, a Seychelles pan-African corporate advisory firm domiciled in Mauritius.
Titan Law has close correspondent relationships with leading law firms in South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States.
